Thanks for checking out my "Bio".

Seems funny to write about my career. Almost like applying for a job, and I don't remember how to do that - I've been back home, here in Washington, for almost 18 years! Over half my career. The last time I applied for a job was 1989.

For those of you who'd like to know a bit about me professionally, thank you. Here we go:

Born and raised here in Washington, DC, my first full-time job in radio was at WINX, a GREAT little Top-40 radio station in Rockville, Maryland, at the age of 16. I did 7:00pm-Midnight, Monday-Friday during my Junior year at Robert E. Peary High School, also in Rockville, and afternoons 3:00PM-7:00PM during my senior year. It was a great opportunity, and changed my life in every way.

The summer I got my driver's license, I drove to Annapolis and got my first part-time jobs at WNAV and WYRE. More about these jobs are in my Blog that you can reach from the bottom of this page. Just look for the black and white pictures of a guy who looks a lot like..., well you decide!

After working for a few years at WINX, I moved to WEEL in Fairfax for another couple years. Then, at the age of 19, my radio odyssey REALLY began. Like "WKRP in Cincinnati" I worked town-to-town up and down the dial.

Some of the great cities I moved to and worked in, in no particular order, include Denver, Providence, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, San Antonio, San Francisco, Atlanta, San Diego, New York and Chicago.

Whew, I'm tired just thinking about all of those moves, but that was the nature of the business. Move to a bigger and better gig in a city you wanted to call home for a few years.

For most of my career I have been getting up at 3:30AM. Not only do I not mind the hours - most of the time I LOVE them. Being the first voice you hear everyday, and maybe getting a laugh and a little information to help get you going is what we live for. When we can reach you emotionally level, that's something special for us. We shoot for that everyday.

I have also worked in Television, both part and full-time, including co-hosting "Broadcast House "Live"" here in Washington on Channel 9, and am currently on "Idol Chatter" as part of the American Idol phenomenon on FOX 5.

In the music industry, I worked for Atlantic Records for a few years, the only time I left on-the-air radio completely, but I did visit and work with stations everyday. Some of the artists I worked with include: The Rolling Stones, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Genesis and Phil Collins, Led Zeppelin, Carly Simon and many others.

Onto a bit of personal information - I have five wonderful children. From oldest to youngest: Rachel, Amy, Ian, Jenni and Connor. My wife is Lisa Anne, a talented singer-songwriter who was kind enough to not only marry me (she had NO idea what she was getting into), but to also accept an instant family into her life. You can hear Lisa Anne and most of the kids on the air from time-to-time. There are also a few pictures of them on the JDMS page.

Lisa and I have a "Trio" and a band that plays Happy Hour events at local restaurants and clubs, and big events like New Year's Eve and Major Festivals in the mid-Atlantic area, and we also open for National Touring acts for as many as 40,000 people. The big events are great, and there's video of some of them on the JDMS page, but our favorites are the smaller clubs and restaurants we can play as a "Trio" and take breaks between sets to talk with you and share the evening. Again - lots of video on our main page.

I have one sister, Pam, who lives in Olney. She and I are both adopted and have the most wonderful mom, who just moved back home to Washington last year. Our adoptive dad passed away many years ago. A remarkable man and Doctor. Dr Irving Fischer may have been your parents optometrist!

We live with four dogs: Kasey; a German Shepherd, Marcus; a Rottie-mix, rescue dog, Bizkit; a Sheltie, and Zeus, my not so little Chihuahua. Proudly all Purina One dogs!

All of us love spending time at the beach and in the woods of West Virginia. We also travel a lot. Wanna see vacation pictures??  :  )

My hobbies are SCUBA and Photography. I am mainly a Canon shooter, but have recently crossed over to the dark side and have picked up a Nikon D3. Amazing camera. Oh - don't get me started.

You are very kind to have read this far, so I'll let you go and say Thank You SO very much for including The Jack Diamond Morning Show in your day. Everyday. It means the world to us.

Jack
